Change cars-for-sale Permalink

  • (I think I posted the first thread in the wrong place – if not, do accept my apologies for the secondary thread.)

    Hi there folks,

    I was wondering how to change the URL of the website from .com/cars-for-sale to something else.

    I have used the plugin for a few months, and I can say it’s fantastic, I am now trying to modify it to accommodate for holiday listings.

    There are a few things I want to be able to change:

    Permalinks from “cars-for-sale” to “e.g. holidays”
    Widget field titles from “Year/Manufacturer/Model/Body Type” to “Date/Destination/Duration/Holiday Type”.

    I don’t think it would be that difficult to figure out, but it sure passes my limited .php knowledge.

    It’s a great plugin, and I want to be able to maximise it for other uses.

    Hey Sam,

    Unfortunately when I wrote the PlugIn I hard coded the permalink rewrite to cars-for-sale. Turns out this was a bad idea, especially for those people wanting to sell Boats, RVs, MotorCycles, etc. and obviously it doesn’t work setting up holiday listings the way you described.

    The good news is I’m working on revising it so that this can be changed easily, it might not make it into the next update I release but I’ll make every effort to get into the one after that. I would guess it’ll be a couple months until I have it worked out but it is definitely on the list.
