• im trying to install wordpress and im having trouble accessing my dashboard. im able to login but it’s as if the environment or styling isn’t loading. i get a list of broken links and the text that appears on my main page but without any styling. my apologies, it’s hard for me to describe in clear terms. see the link below. i checked my index.php file but i believe the link references are correct.

    im also getting this error.
    “Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help. Additionally you can return to our home page and start over.”

  • Hi Kaitlyn,

    I’ve had a look at the site. It seems your WP installation is ‘broken’.

    If at first ‘things were ‘fine’, until you made some changes such as installing a plugin, then uninstall the plugins, and check if the situation is back to normal.

    How?
    Use a FTP-program such as Filezilla to access your site / alternatively use your webhost’s webaccess > rename all plugin-folders by adding a ‘0’ to the name of the folder.

    1. Use FTP to access your site
      bv. https://filezilla-project.org/download.php
    2. rename all plugins by putting a ‘0’ in front of each plugin -folder;
      ../wp-content/plugins
    3. Check if the access has been restored
    4. If so: one-by-one, remove the ‘0’, checking every time to see if the problem re-occurs.
    5. when the problem re-occurs, you’ve found the source of the problem; Delete and find a working replacement.
    6. alternatively: FTP:Delete; Then download and install / activate a NEW version and see if this works.

    If that doesNOT help:
    FIRST FTP-download the file wp-config.php to your PC; just to be sure…

    Download a FRESH copy of wordpress and use FTP to upload and overwrite the previous version.
    Check if control has been restored.
