• I am currently running Cosmox and have been having some major difficulties (much of it is me because i’m a noob) but after trying to customise the theme and it didn’t work i tried to reset the theme by deleting it and clearing my cache. The WP theme upload function never worked for me and I had to upload and install it via my hosting cpanel.

Note: i never made a child page (or whatever it is) because it just didn’t seem like i’d need it. To be honest i don’t really understand what that child page even does but i’m guessing i could have used it here.

When i tried doing uploading and activating this theme again last night i ended up with broken links. the following message was displayed.

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description
    PSD Stylesheet is missing.
    documentation Stylesheet is missing.
    dummy_data Stylesheet is missing.
    patterns Stylesheet is missing.
    plugins Stylesheet is missing.

I tried searching this problem and when people said just upload and override each individual file i realised that I couldn’t find any files within the theme folder with the names listed above. Can anybody tell me whether i should be able to find the psd style sheet within the themes CSS folder or is a different type of file found elsewhere?

I’m so confused. I have tried sending tech support to the premium themes developers but they take a number of days to reply.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Is “Cosmox” the name of theme?
If it is, it cannot be found in the WP free theme directory
You may want to contact the theme’s vendor.

i never made a child page (or whatever it is)

    You mean Child Theme?

    Hi Tara thanks for that.

Yes Cosmox is the theme – it is a premium them from ozythemes.

I have contacted them – all of that is in my original post ??

yes Child theme is what i meant.

I think i need to hear it explained it plain english for me understand what the child theme actually does and why i need it, because no matter how many times I read that child theme link i don’t fully get it – you know those times when you feel really dumb because everybody else get’s something straight away and you’re left standing there scratching your head saying … what? well this is that time for me. Child themes… what?

more importantly how do i fix these broken links without having to wait another week for the vendor to get back to me with a reply?

Ok so it’s Five days later and still no response from the theme vendor (Ozythemes), i thought the whole point of going with premium themes was the custom service and better after sales support?

Don’t waste your time going with Ozythemes, they are a joke.

By the errors you are recieving, is likely that you upload had a problem.. could you try uploading the files via ftp?

Child theme is like a… hm… theme that needs a mother to work. Mother would be another theme… How many folders are there in you .zip file?

    oooooooooooooh i got it!!!!

    PSD	Stylesheet is missing.
    documentation	Stylesheet is missing.
    dummy_data	Stylesheet is missing.
    patterns	Stylesheet is missing.
    plugins	Stylesheet is missing.

    these are FOLDERS!
Your theme probably have an documentation that teaches how to install.
You only need to upload 1 folder
and you probably have to upload some plugins (that should be inside this zip file too)

What i recommend you to do:
extract the zip contents to a folder.

    Search for the theme folder
    should be like /cosmox
this folder should be uploaded to
    yousite.com/wp-content/themes
and then you should be able to activate your theme via wp-admin panel

inside the folder /psd/ you have original photoshop files
inside /documentations must be your graal that teaches you how to install
inside /dummy_data you probably have a .xml file that you can import with dummy content for testing you theme
/patterns probably have some cool image files for background and texturing purposes

the folders inside the /plugins folder should be uploaded to yousite.com/wp-content/plugins, and then activated on PLUGINS menu @ wp-admin panel

    ?? this should work

ok, so i think: HOW TO INSTALL
    1) upload only the folders INSIDE /plugin folder to yousite.com/wp-content/plugins
    2) activate the plugins via wp panel
    3) upload the theme folder (is probably there already). it is the one with screenshot.png and lots of .php files
    4) activate the theme via wp-admin

Ok i’m trying that now…….. but when I go to the WP console I can’t activate any plugins because the folders I added from my themes plugin folder don’t show up… there aren’t any plugins to speak of.

I just noticed this error message too, could be assist with the problem?

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-includes/SimplePie/Misc.php on line 843

I tried doing the ftp and apart from no new plugins to activate it all appeared to work but then i still get the same error messages about the broken links ??

Instead of trying to activate a broken theme which is a commercial theme that we do not support here, revert to Twenty Eleven theme and see if you still have problems. Deactivate all plugins too.

For problems regarding the bought out theme please contact the theme’s developer/ vendor.

Krishna I have tried everything you just suggested. Including contacting the theme vendor. The theme vendor who is ozythemes does NOT reply to the support ticket posts that I make requesting assistance. Hence me asking for assistance here.

Did you try to change theme as I suggested?
Sorry, you have to wait for the theme’s vendor’s reply, as part of the price you paid is for support. Also, we do not have access to such themes and hence cannot reply to your questions.

    Krishna,

I did change themes as you suggested and it appears to be working perfectly. I still get the same broken links message when i go to the themes page within the wp panel but i’m guessing that only relates to the cosmox theme.

When everybody says they don’t have access to the theme i’m using, am i able to send it to somebody so they can see it for me to receive better support? Surely due to the fact that Ozythemes DON’T provide technical support i must do whatever i can to resolve my technical issues.

@steamed – that’s certainly frustrating, but these forums only support themes from the repository on this site. You could consider hiring someone by posting a job listing here: https://jobs.wordpress.net/

All support is to be kept on this forum, so the greater WordPress community benefits. That answers no to, “am i able to send it to somebody so they can see it for me to receive better support”. You can receive better support from WPJobs.

We can continue helping you if you continue to use a theme distributed on www.remarpro.com.
