Adding Photos to a HomeSlider

  • Very new to WordPress and website building in general.

    I’ve downloaded a theme from Megatheme called ‘Heat’ that offers a Home Slider page but I’m having issues in actually adding photos to that page.

    I have the theme up and running and have several pages up already:

    In the ‘Edit Page’ section I am adding photos by ‘adding media’ and then updateing and publishing, but when I click to view the page it just says: please add slides.

    I cannot see any option to add slides anywhere. I know it’ll be something simple I’ve overlooked but I’ve searched YouTube to no success and thought I’d check here to see if anyone can point me in the right direction!

  • Your home page has 4 full page slides on it.

    Is there a section called “slides” on the left column of your WP-Admin? Maybe under your comments? Or is there a “slides” section in your Media option on the left?

    Hi, thanks for the reply. I’ve managed to locate it under:

    Appearance > Theme Options > Home Slider

    I’m guessing it varies from Theme to Theme then? A bit confusing as when you see ‘Add Media’ on the Page you assume that this will do the trick!

    Yes, it very much so varies from theme to theme …. all themes are different. Glad you found it!
