Hello, your plug in sounds just what I need but I don’t really know what to do with it. No admin section has appeared under Media when I have installed it so I don’t know where to start. I tried inserting the text directly into a page but that was obviously mad as it went totally wrong.

I would ideally like a small screenshot of the Vine video to be embedded next to some text so that it can either play within the page itself or click on it for a bigger version (or direct to the vine site I suppose). Does this sound feasible?

    Thanks for any help,
    Denise

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. At the moment Vine doesn’t provide any kind of thumbnail of the video so to to do this you’d probably be best to take a screengrab and put that on your page with a link to the Vine page. However, if Vine add this feature then I will add this into the plugin.

Back to your problems – it sounds like they’re related. What code are you putting on the page and what are the results?

Sounds like I might as well just put a screen grab in and a link. I was hoping to play it on a loop, but small. Is that what I might be able to do?
I have now found the admin section ( I was looking under Settings/Media rather than just Media, duh) and I’ve set that to 100 which is the size I want, but I was hoping that the video would play in that box but it doesn’t seem to? I can click on it to go to the vine page now but that wasn’t quite what I wanted. Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks for the response by the way,
    Denise

It should play. Can you provide a URL link?

Thanks again for the message – my (very much in progress) site is at https://treatbags.co.uk/wordpress/

The Vine part isn’t playing and is throwing everything out because it’s sending back an error at the top. It definitely won’t play in Tenfourfox or Opera

Thanks for shedding any light on this – after reading some more sites i realise that embedding vine is a very new thing!

I’ve just tried your page in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera and it worked fine. It could be environmental – i.e. something on your PC, e.g. an old version of Flash. Otherwise this would be a Vine issue rather than anything that my plugin is doing odd.

Just looked up Tenfourfox as I hadn’t come across it – looks like it’s a PowerPC Mac version of Firefox. I’m unable to test with this. Are you also using an older, PowerPC version of Opera as well?

    David.

Ahhhh, it’s working in Safari! Yes I am on a PowerPC Imac, which does have it’s glitches! Thank you so much for your patience! x

But… are you getting the message
“Warning: Missing argument 2 for shortcode_atts(), called in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/tr/ea/tb/treatbags.co.uk/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/artiss-vine-embed/includes/generate-embed-code.php on line 28 and defined in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/tr/ea/tb/treatbags.co.uk/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/shortcodes.php on line 294”
at the top of the content of the page?

Yes, I saw that when I was looking at your site ?? I’m going to look at fixing that now.

I’ve made the fix – and I found some other minor bugs too so fixed those. I’m just uploading version 1.1.1 to www.remarpro.com now.
