How do I change the email address shown in mail sent from site?

    I am setting up a community site based on buddypress. Whenever I have email alerts & the like sent, I have the sender in the form “[email protected]”.
    I would like the sender email to be one I can determine, like [email protected].

    Where can I set this? I have looked in the WP Settings & Buddypress & see nowhere to change this

    I would be grateful for any guidance.
