  • Same here..

I just updated and now have this error:

The plugin digg-digg/digg-digg.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

Hope it gets fixed soon, I love this plugin!

Well, I just checked via cpanel and the plugin folder is still in my files.

I also had this error upon trying to update:

Warning: fopen(/home/…./plugins/digg-digg/digg-digg.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/…./functions.php on line 3508

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/…./wp-includes/functions.php on line 3511

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/…./wp-includes/functions.php on line 3514

Same here. I just updated and it has disappeared from my installed plugins page as well as not showing within settings. I don’t get any errors however.

It is still there as I can not re-install it and I checked via ftp and it’s still in my plugins folder. However, I noticed it’s in …./wp-contents/plugins/digg-digg/digg-digg then all the various files. I don’t remember it being buried in 2 folders with the same name. Perhaps that’s the issue?

You may be correct! I just copied the second digg-digg folder from my blog onto my test site to see if would work without being buried within that other folder and it seems to work fine that way.

I haven’t had a chance to try that out but will later today. I tweeted to @bufferapp to let them know so hopefully we’ll have an official answer soon.

I moved the files from the 2nd digg-digg folder into the first and it appears in the plugins now. I had to re-activate it but it appears to be working now! Glad we got that quickly figured out.

I’d guess someone entered an incorrect path into the install package.

Yep, I went ahead and did the same on my blog and all seems to be well! My settings and share count were all still intact after reactivating. So glad we figured it out – this is the only sharing plugin I like!

Hi guys, thanks so much for the heads up on this! Really appreciate your quick response to help us figure that out. With the answers above, we’ve figured out the issue and are working on a fix right now. The update should be live shortly and I’ll post another comment then. ??

Thanks to this thread, I was able to fix the same problem – disappearing DiggDigg was fixed once I moved the DiggDigg directory that was inside ANOTHER DiggDIgg Directory to the plugins directory! Thanks all.

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to follow up on this. We’ve fixed the broken version and pushed an update live.

However for those that are currently stuck on the broken update, you have to unfortunately head to your FTP client and fix it manually. Here is a quick guide for you:

    https://cl.ly/image/053V0I120Y20

    (this is what’s in there:

Step 1. Open your FTP client

    Step 2. Go to wp-content > plugins > digg-digg

Step 3. There is one extra “digg-digg” folder that shouldn’t be there

Step 4. Move all files into the plugins/digg-digg folder

Step 5. Delete the empty “digg-digg” folder that’s left.

So sorry about the hassle guys! Hope that fixes it for you! ??

@leo — I am in my FTP now and do NOT see an extra folder anywhere — When I open the Digg Digg folder I see 4 folders and nothing else?

@leo === Can I just delete the folder in Go Daddy and reload it into my WP Dashboard?
