Hi Jordy, awesome plugin! I’ve been able to figure out uploading the correct image sizes and all, and it looks like everything is set in the Retina dashboard. I’m using the client-side method. However, when I turn on Debug I can’t tell if it’s working or not.

I’ve read from the plugin FAQs that I should “see” the larger images, but how exactly? I’m using Firefox and when I click “View image info” with debug on, it shows the image sizes as the smaller, non-retina, sizes without the @2x before the extension. Is this the expected behavior with debug on? What should I be seeing to make sure it’s working?

I’m sure this is answered somewhere, but I’m not clear on what to expect when checking if Debug is working.

    Thanks!

    Hey Ramiel,

Yes, you should be able to check the size of the picture (directly with your browser tools or by downloading them) and you will know instantly. In the case of the client-side, the code is normally getting updated with the @2x images. Don’t you see it?

May I have your website URL? I could also check it myself ??

Okay, in that case I don’t think client-side is working. I don’t see the @2x images being served.

Here’s the URL with some images that should display retina sizes: https://www.mikeparra.com/testing/brian-paul-guitars/guitars

I have client-side and Debug checked, let me know what you find. Thanks!

It works very well on my MacBook Pro Retina ?? All your images are retinized and it all looks good! Plus I love guitars.

Oh, okay great! I was also able to confirm it on some friend’s devices. So, I guess it is working–but it still doesn’t explain why Debug mode is not serving me the retina images when it’s on. I’m still seeing the standard size images when I try to use it. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks for your help on this!

I have no idea, again you should try to turn the debug mode on… then I’ll try on a non-retina device, then maybe I can tell you ??

Okay, I’ve turned on Debug mode. Again using the client-side method. Let me know what you find!

Mmm, I tried on a normal computer, and I get the retina images with the debug mode.

Hi Jordy, sorry for the delay. I’m still not seeing retina images being served in Debug mode. I’ve tried clearing the cache, and it still doesn’t seem to be working. Do you want me to send you screenshots of my settings? Maybe I have something incorrect?

Nothing is incorrect. Tried again, and it works on my retina display. I suggest you to play with your website on another computer, maybe something is wrong with your browser, computer settings, your local cache, your router cache, it’s hard to say. But don’t worry, it works. Alternatively, you can to an Apple Store ??
