WP DB Backup still ok? What is supported

  • I just realized my WP DB Backup wasn’t sending emails for one blog. Determined it’s a plugin conflict, not yet sure which one. But it caused me to research more and realize that the plugin hasn’t been updated in 2 years.

    Is it still safe to use, meaning will I have trouble restoring? I use 1and1.com and my husband knows mySQL inside and out. I’m just wondering if the plugin is still backing up everything it’s supposed to.

    If not, what is recommended for a shared hosting environment? Every review I read of other products seems to have lots of flaws.

    Just an update that earlier today, deactivating all other plugins allowed WP DB Backup to work, but just now, as I was systematically trying to test plugins, it wouldn’t work even with all of them deactivated. So I don’t know what the answer is. It works on my other blog, but naturally not on my most important one.
