Entire plugin DISAPPEARED from dashboard!

  • …and can’t reinstall, because I get this message:

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Destination folder already exists. /home/domain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/

    Plugin install failed.

    Can I remove the files from the plugin directory and reinstall from the development version without losing all my settings? Thanks in advance.
