Two sliders – one content

    Hi there,

    I’ve set up a site with two sliders.

    Names are “agentschoice” and “frontpage2”.

    Each sliders have one slide. They’ve been allocated to their respective sliders.

    My code has the following short codes in it.
    [promoslider id=”slider1″ display_excerpt=”excerpt” slider=”agentschoice”]
    [promoslider id=”slider2″ display_excerpt=”excerpt” slider=”frontpage2″]

    Both sliders show the same content – the two pages. Its as if the slider names are invalid, so they are showing all posts. I’ve also set the slugs to be the same name as the respective sliders.

    Do you have any ideas?

    Hmmm I think I fixed it by using the category tag as well – I noticed that when filtering on the posts by the slider name (all promotions page) it was in the drop down list for category – on a hunch I added it to the slider short code and it worked.

    Absolutely no idea why its not recognising the “slider” tag though!

    There is currently a bug that prevents the slider attribute in the shortcode from working properly. Yes, the workaround is to use the category attribute instead. I will be fixing this in the next release. Basically, the ‘slider’ attribute is just an alias for the ‘category’ attribute. I just recently changed the terminology to make it more clear to users how to use the plugin.

    Ha it took a while. Its been a crap week – my isp has upgraded my server and phpinfo() has been crashing apache – took me two days to figure it out ;(

    I am having this problem as well, but I can’t figure out how to use the category tag. Do I need to have made a post with a thumbnail to get this to work? When I use the category tag the page go blank…

    Can you provide more detail as to what shortcode you are using and what you have done as far as input in the admin?

    Sorry, I got it to work by adding the same name for slider and for the category, even though there is no category set up.
