When to expect stock to auto-update

  • I’m new to WooCommerce, and I’m expecting WooCommerce to update stock, if I have it set to manage stock, whenever a customer places an order. Is my assumption incorrect that when a customer places an order for an item in their cart that it will auto-decrement the inventory for that item? When, if at all, should stock automatically update, and where is the documentation for configuring this?

    Hi,

    Stock decrements automatically when a pending order goes to ‘processing’ or ‘completed’. The gateway updates your orders. If you are using paypal and orders are stuck at pending, check docs as this is an IPN issue.
