Limit Posts on Frontpage

  • Is there any way I can limit the amount of posts that show up on the front page of my site, but not on any other? I know you can limit through the admin panel, but is there any way, in a template, but using the is_home or something to limit how many times the loop runs to select posts?

    I’m asking, because I want one post to show up, and then I want to have links to the next 10 recent posts below, or something like that
