[Plug-in: Dynamic Content Gallery]Add theme's custom categories to a plug in.

Hello, I’m using the Smart Start theme from Themeforest and the Dynamic Content Gallery.
The problem is, this theme uses some kind of alternate categories aside from the ones you can see in wp-admin->posts->categories for posting in a portfolio menu; because of this, the plug-in Dynamic Content Gallery, which gets it’s images from a category is not working because it doesn’t show these custom categories the theme author decided to use.

Unfortunately, the author of the theme -run away with our money- is not responding at all, and I don’t have enough knowledge to change this (hence I, naively, bought a theme). Thus I come here asking for help.
If I missed any information that would make solving this issue faster will be added as soon as you ask for it.
