Saving Draft bugs, and would like featured image populated as draft

Hi,

When starting a new post, I see a more verbose field area, asking for a fallback video URL, more instructions, etc.

When I put a video URL in and “Save Draft,” the field view goes back to normal (just having a URL field) however, the URL i just saved in the draft is now gone, and I have to put it in again.

I’m also hoping that when I save as a draft, that it will populate the featured image (so I can preview the image and crop if needed), but it doesn’t populate that field until I actually publish the post.

In short:
– there are some inconsistencies/bugs when saving as a draft
– it would be great if the featured image would be populated when saving as a draft
