How do I stop page names appearing on page?

I am just starting out.
I have created a basic menu structure but am frustrated because the page names (which are the same as the navigation title) are showing on my pages.

Home page has the word Home in large text at the top

Contacts has the word contacts at the top etc.
This is completely redundant as in addition to the relevant menu item being highlighted the content will make it clear what the page is about.
I am using theme twenty eleven.
