I’m building a new website with Events Manager. Up until this point, I haven’t had any trouble with this plugin really ever.

However, when I got to the point where I activated it on this current site located at https://www.datablueprint.com/beta/ my custom content types that I built in using the Types and Views plugins (by OnTheGo Systems) all crashed. The single pages and archive pages associated with these content types won’t load any content and instead forward to my 404.php template.

I’ve tried testing this by deactivating all the other plugins and it seems to be that these plugins aren’t compatible. I don’t get any error besides the 404 page, so I’m not really sure what the issue is here. I’m curious if anyone else has ran into this problem or might have some sort of suggestion about how I could go about trying to work around this.

I’m using the current version of all this plugins, etc. Here is what I’m currently running:

    WordPress 3.5.1
    Types 1.2
    Views 1.2
    Events Manager 5.3.6.1

I’d really appreciate any help that anyone can give me on this! Thanks a bunch in advance.

We have fixed a bug in EM that may help this issue, I think it’s in the latest dev.

Could you try our dev version 5.3.6.4? To do that, go to Events > Settings > Admin Tools > Check Dev Versions

    Hey Marcus,

Thanks for your help! I went through and tried to install the development version like you mentioned, but when I turn on the setting to check for development versions, I’m not getting any newer versions to download.

I’d be more than happy to try this out if there’s a way I can get this setup to test!

Please hit me back when you get a chance.

    Thanks again!

Hi Marcus, Having the same issue. Also using Types/Views/Cred/Access toolset.

    Couple additional things.

    1. In my Access Controls panel that even when I turn off control of Event Tags and Categories, that when I save settings, it always turns back on the “Managed by Access” setting.

    2. Getting 404’s on single listing pages like this example: https://collectorsbluebook.com/collectible_dealer/ambianic/

    3. When I do a minor update and empty my cache (using nginx with memcached with the w3tc cache plugin), I get a 404 on the page types as per the example in #2 above. I then resave my permalinks in the wp general settings area and it resolves the issue. Not sure on the long term stability though, as I am just launching and making adjustments on a daily basis. However, when I leave it overnight and come back the settings seem to be sticking and not getting 404’s. Like I said, the 404’s are triggered by updates and emptying caches.

    Well Marcus,

I tried the 5.3.6.5 developer update and it only made matters worse. Now I cannot get rid of the 404’s when previously I was able to resolve this issue by resaving my wp permalink settings.

It’s a good thing I did a backup before testing this version.

    Regards,
    Will

<G>I’m going to retract my last post about 5.3.6.5. Not sure what happened but I restored the mysql database to the one I backed up before updating the plugin.

I thought this would restore the plugin back to the previous version but I am still showing the 5.3.6.5 version as installed. I resaved the wp permalinks, resaved the events manager permalinks, emptied my caches and rebooted..now the 404’s are gone again.

Does not resolve the issue with Access controls though.

    @derekchamberlin go to Events > Settings > Admin Tools > Check Dev-Versions

@bigdogsf I’d raise that issue in a new thread, not sure it’s at all related to this thread.

Actually Marcus, this is the exact issue I am having as per the original post by Derek. I just added some additional info about my experience and what I am seeing.

Every time I do a plugin update this issue recurs and I have to empty caches and resave permalinks.

I think this is a permalink issue with the plugin itself.

I mean create a new one for

Does not resolve the issue with Access controls though.

as of next update the permalink issue should be resolved from our side of things.

Thanks Marcus. I appreciate the quick response. There are definitely some issues with the types and views plugins too, some of which are independent and not related to the Events plugins, so the permalinks and Access issues may be associated with types and views…not just the events plugin.

The other issues that I am having with the original Types/Views plugins started with the installation of the Types/Views CRED plugin and Access plugin resolve when they are deactivated

I have to look at the permalinks issue and see if it resolves when CRED and Access are deactivated.

    Regards,
    Will
