BWP Google XML Sitemaps Error: post_google_news.xml does not have any item.

    Hi –

    I love this tool so far but I’m having problems getting the post_google_news.xml to render.

    The status are on the statistics page is throwing this error:

    post_google_news.xml does not have any item. You can fix this easily by excluding any post types / terms you do not use in Sitemap Generator tab within your admin area. If you still see this error, consider checking the module that generates this sitemap (post_google_news.php). (Debug is on)

    I have followed the advice given and it has not worked. I have this error in my logs:

    WordPress database error Table ‘realcomwppreview.wp_pTC_logs’ doesn’t exist for query INSERT INTO wp_pTC_logs (time,userid,message,priority) VALUES (‘2013-03-14 17:27:39 ‘,22,’User Stevie can view pTypeConverter page successfully’,3) made by require(‘wp-admin/menu.php’), require_once(‘wp-admin/includes/menu.php’), do_action(‘admin_menu’), call_user_func_array, pTC_menu, logMe, W3_Db->insert, W3_DbCache->insert, W3_DbCallUnderlying->insert, W3_Db->insert, W3_DbProcessor->insert, W3_Db->default_insert, W3_Db->query, W3_DbProcessor->query, W3_Db->default_query, referer: https://www.preview.real.com/resources/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bwp_gxs_google_news

    and I really just don’t know what to do now. I’ve tried deleting and re-installing the plug in. The other sitemaps are written just fine.

    Any help at all would be very much appreciated.

    Update.

    When loading the post_google_news.xml I get this error in my logs:

    I checked the code and everything looks fine. Still confused. Any suggestions?

    Something is not right with the query used to generate news posts, please contact me through https://betterwp.net/contact/, we will continue our discussion there.

    I’m having the same problem… though I’m not sure what’s in my logs yet.

    Are you certain that you have Google News posts? All News posts must be at most 2 days old.

    This same thing is happening for me. Am receiving the following “post_google_news.xml does not have any item. You can fix this easily by excluding any post types / terms you do not use in Sitemap Generator tab within your admin area. If you still see this error, consider checking the module that generates this sitemap (post_google_news.php).” Just installed the plugin two days ago. It worked well for one day then stopped today.

    In Webmaster Tools, I’m seeing follwoing: “General HTTP error: 404 not found.”

    I am a Google News provider and all categories are listed as news posts. Sometimes though, I do have a day without a post, could this be the cause here?

    Yes that can be the cause, you should always have news posts within a 2-day period.
