except pics during or before upload

Hi,
is there a way to mark pictures before they will be uploaded to be excepted? I have on my Frontpage a gallery with recent posts/ pictures and i also have galleries for my clients password protected. These images are only for the clients and it could be that is it will be a big amount. After uploading i have to mark each of the pics and this can take some time. Because of this i can’t use nextgen for this galleries unfortunately. So before would be the best or afterwards mark all and apply with dropdown menu command for all.
Is there a solution for this?
