Mighty nice, but for two little nasty things.
The lesser: People with 800 by 600 pixel screens will not be able to see the whole lot.
The grimmer: People with high screen resolution will see all your wonderful icons to the left float out of the “sidebar”, id.est. the background image visual one.
And they will see all your menu items float out of their main area and into the right sidebar.

Conclusion: If you have a background image so clearly dividing your page, the (X)HTML containers should be fixed widths too.

Other than that – beautiful!

@petit – re: 800×600, I had considered that, but there was no “pretty” way that I could reduce/slim that image — or, at least, not to my personal liking. However, I will be adding Style Switcher with some 8×6-friendly themes that I’ve used in the past. ??

re: larger res, I was not aware of that, thanks for the notification! I had thought I had set my widths properly/strictly, but apparently not enough. I’ll definitely work on that first chance I get!

That is a beautiful template Nitallica, nice work. However, I know that you mentioned you had built the template around Firefox, but in Internet Explorer 7 Beta, the footer seems to be displaying incorrectly (text not aligned with the box), hopefully you won’t mind correcting this.

@devilmaycry: Thank you. ?? I don’t have IE7, but my fiance does so I’ll have him check it for me. (I won’t install that evil software on my box, lol)

Just out of curiosity, when you view in IE7 did you see a msg at the top of the screen in the solid dark purple part near the center? (Just wondering if the bit of code that I smurfed from the forums here works on the new IE as well as prev versions.)

Don’t worry too much about IE7 beta yet. It’s still undergoing development and the latest release (not yet available to the public) contains fixes for previous issues.

It looks pretty, but in FF, IE, and Opera on my 1280*1024 screen, the alignment is all off.

I’ve made some changes, but currently don’t have a system to test it on … my fiance’s runs higher than 1024×768, but he’s gaming and I dare not interrupt. (or he’d return the favor while I’m playing UT! LOL)

If someone would be kind enough to re-try and let me know if my changes made any difference, I would be grateful. ??

Nitallica: In MSIE 6, if I fit the window to the least width where I can see the whole blog page, it is a OK.
The icon swarm to the left and the menue bar fits well on the backgrund divisions.
When I let the browser window take up the whole screen, the icons and the menues will move to the right, out of sync with the background.

I took two screenshots to show you what happens.
Look at the left icon swarm and the displaced menu to the right.

When you use a backgrund image to divide your page, you’ll hav to give the different columns fixed widths, so that they dont move when you resize the window, i.e. no floating widths. It’s in the CSS of course.

Isn’t making the site not load properly in IE as bad as pro-firefox people complaining about site owners making sites use IE? That’s not phrased very well, but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.
