I’m having a nightmare trying to get this to work. I had to switch servers, but otherwise, everything was left intact, and my ISP says I should be fine. How on earth do I get the import function to work?

  • I’m having the same challenge – my webadmin for hosting sent me the logs to show that CURL was installed, but it’s still not working. Not sure what to do next – I have several blogs I want to move to my own server.

As has been posted a few times in these forums, your best bet is to install your own server on your PC, do the import, and copy the WordPress DB from your PC to your public WordPress server. Search around and you should find posts about this process. I am in the process of writing up another tutorial about my own experiences doing this. Perhaps I will finish it sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately unless it’s a clear step-by-step instruction I get lost in the process as I’m unsure of what I’m supposed to be looking for and where. Perhaps when the tutorial is done, you could let us know but in the meantime I’m going to keep seeking help – or else just copy and paste the whole thing manually.

    Try this
