Not sure… but was trying out WP with a downloaded template. It prompted me to press the link to see the results on my webpage and nothing happened.

This is my second day with web sites, and looks like the last…!!!

    Thanks for your interest.

    No – it’s all fixable. ??

Do you know the name of the theme that you were using? Can you use FTP or whatever file management application your host provides?

    Sorry I don’t speak Chinese…. (joking)

Looking at the File Manager of JustHost the theme was Simplify. Ahhh, and the FTP that I did not know what it was must be the FileManager.. I learn everyday

    qim

Yep – that’s the file Manager you need to learn about. Use it to navigate to wp-content/themes on your site and try changing the name of the simplify folder to simplify-old. This should deactivate this bad theme and re-activate the default 2012 theme automatically.

Ok, I’ve done that. How do I get into WP through the web site now?

If I enter https://www.sitename.net/wp_admin I get the 500 Internal Server Error

    qim

    Site url?

    Thread Starter qim

    (@qim)

    yes

No – I meant can you post the url for your site here. ??

    (@qim)

I’m not sure if I should disclose my url as this forum is public, and I am not sure if it represents a security risk, especiall if someone knowing my domain name, webserver, and WP can enter the system as easily as I do.

    Can you advise, pleASE’

    qim

Posting the address of your site here does not pose any kind of security risk. We couldn’t access the back end of your site – even if we wanted to! Only someone who knows your password can login to your site. As long as you keep that password safe and private, you’re fine.

Good. I did not mean you, but anyone can read our posts. Here it goes: https://www.pintotours.net

Don’t worry. No one can gain access to the back end of your site unless you give them access. Where did you install WordPress on this domain? In what folder?

    Hi, and good morning here.

    WP is in public_html

Was it originally installed there? Or did you try and move it? I’m getting some unusual results when I go looking for WordPress on your site.
