backup

Hello, I am trying to backup all my files for my blog just in case everyone’s worse nightmare happens. I trued backing my files up in wordpress but it get these messages :

WARNING: Your backup directory is NOT writable! We can not create the backup directory.

and;

WARNING: Your wp-content directory is NOT writable! We can not create the backup directory.

Can someone please help? What’s the best way to save all my files just in case something is lost, or even hacked?!?
