Can't Trash/Update Posts or Users

  • Hi,

    Working on a site for work with multiple users. WP won’t let me update posts (by changing author or category), make changes to users, or even delete posts. I’ve tried deleting them using the buttons underneath the post title and using the bulk actions drop down. It always says “Item moved to the Trash.” but the trash option doesn’t appear, and the post remains with all the others.

    I thought it might be the theme, so I switched to one of the WP themes, and cleared all widgets and plugins, but the same thing happens.

    Any help you can give would be great!

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
