Use a moble-page.php template automatically

Would it be possible to write a function to check if the user is on a mobile and if so go to a ‘mobile’ prefixed template like ‘mobile-page’ ‘mobile-single’ ‘mobile-index’

I don’t want to switch themes just have a folder called mobile inside my theme folder that phones will default to?
