• I’m self-hosting two WordPress websites, as well as Piwik. I installed WP-Piwik on both sites. It seems to work fine on one site, but on the other, when I add the tracking code, I first get the website, then it blanks and hangs, while it says it’s connecting to https://www.xxx.com (With xxx.com being the domain I have piwik installed). The only difference between the sites that I can see would cause a problem is that the non-working site has n3rdskwat-mp3player installed. Unfortunately, My HTML isn’t terribly good, so it’s just a guess. Does anyone know if this plugin is compatible with WP-Piwik?

    Thanks!

Are you using a SSL certificate?

If both sites connect to Piwik using different domains: Maybe the trusted hostname is not configured properly?
    See https://piwik.org/faq/troubleshooting/#faq_171

    Thanks for the response Braeking.

No SSL certificate installed. Not using SSL.

I checked the trusted hostname for the Piwik server, and it is correct.

I’ve compared the Piwik configurations for both websites very carefully, and can’t find a significant difference. The non-working website is actually a bit simpler, with fewer pages, plugins, and viewers. The only thing the non-working site has that the working site doesn’t, is that n3rdskwat-mp3player plugin. Since it uses Java, Ajax, or some other magic to put an MP3 player at the bottom of the page, and not interrupt the playing while going to other pages, I thought there might be something there that’s interfering. I’m probably wrong.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

Can you just disable the mp3 plugin and try again?

It would be helpful to know if there is an incompatibility, actually.

I think my brain took a little vacation, and missed doing that obvious step ??
I disabled the MP3 plugin, enabled WP-Piwik, and the page loads fine, so I guess that’s the conflict. Any idea how we can make the two plugins play nice?

I have no idea about this MP3 plugin, but I’ll have a look at your issue this weekend.

I’m sorry, but I was busy this weekend. But I still remember your issue and will have a look as soon as possible. ??

I’m really sorry, but I’m not able to help you regarding this issue.

The MP3 plugin wasn’t updated for 2 years and is highly incompatible with WordPress 3.x – using this plugin while debug output is enabled causes a ton of error messages and warnings.

So I think this plugin is deprecated. Please contact its developer to ask him to update his work.

I was afraid of that… I appreciate your effort. I haven’t been able to find another MP3 plugin like this one. I guess I’ll have to keep looking for one. Thanks again for your help!
