I’m using twenty twelve theme and am really happy with how the site looks in Chrome, Firefox and so on.

I’ve just checked in IE 8 and it’s not bad… but the menu font colour and spacing is different (which means the menu is going into two lines) and I’m not sure where to start looking to fix this.

    The site is https://www.writingourwayhome.com

So two questions – is there anyway I can restyle the menu in IE8?

And (separately) is there any way to make the menu a fixed width rather than wrapping onto two lines….

    Thanks

I just took a look at your site in Firefox, then in IE8 on a narrow screen as well as on a wide screen…and I also have Twenty Twelve. Yes, you can specifically style for IE, but that is not necessarily going to guarantee a single line of menu items in your Navbar. If you were to add more there, for example, even Firefox would begin wrapping them since Twenty Twelve is responsive. Also, and if you ever have drop-down menus there, you are likely to discover IE8 does not handle those well at all. The world had gone mobile, and IE has been left in the dust.
