I’ve uploaded, for instance, Istrania-Autumn (and another theme) to wp-content/themes/theme-name so that all files are in the theme-name directory, but they don’t show up in Admin Panel when I refresh that page. Any suggestions?

probably a double folder. make sure it’s the folder with the theme name and then inside that the files (sidebar.php, index.php, style.css, etc.) and not a folder with the theme folder inside

Look at the VERY bottom. Problematic themes will show up down there. See if your’s does.

No, they’re not at the very bottom, I’ve verified that they’re not in a double folder – any other suggestions?

That folder only contain 2 folders (at least readable by us) – sure the read/write settings are correct?

I only see two themes there in your wp-content/themes directory.

    [edit, hit send to soon!]

That may mean one of two things:

    1) You put ’em in the wrong directory
    or
    2) Your webserver process can’t seem them due to permissions. Make sure that you set permissions on them properly (perhaps 755 on the theme folders).

That’s exactly why I asked for him to post a link .. Silkjaer, thanks for getting to that, I was offline watching TV or… something.. =)

Is this set up under Admin Panel -> Options -> Misc, or at my host?

    Chris_K

    (@handysolo)

Once you’ve downloaded and extracted the theme you wish to use, you then need to transfer it to your host and place it in your /blogname/wp-content/themes directory.

    (@coxtree)

It’s on the host server. The settings for the WordPress folder are 755, as HandySolo mentioned, but I don’t know what these codes mean.

    (@handysolo)

To be clearer, the theme folders (and the files they contain) need to be put on your host under “/WordPress/wp-content/themes”

BTW, they are under kncmusic/coxtree (sub-domain of my kncmusic acct)/wordpress/wp-content/themes/theme_name.

It may be that I need to move the wordpress directory to kncmusic?

    Chris_K

    (@handysolo)

Your blog appears to be here, right? https://kncmusic.com/WordPress/index.php

so the themes need to be /WordPress/wp-content/themes.

That’d be much more rational than moving the blog to the themes. ??

    Bingo! Thanks, all!
