For the Pinboard theme, I’ve been working bring appearance consistency between page (static) posts and single (blog) posts.

My question is on the entry-meta for each page header style. The desired appearance of entry-meta data (author, date, tags) properly appears on the single/blog template entries, with all metadata on the same line:

I’ve been unable to match the same with page/static template entries, where each class of metadata shows on separate lines:

I’ve carefully reviewed the single.php and page.php templates. By all accounts, the <aside class="entry-meta"> contents look no different between the two. The only <body class> difference in the template php files is that single.php has a callout for “single”, which may be trying to call something unique from the stylesheet under a definition for .single. Still, by substituting the values of .single in the stylesheet (on a child theme) for page.php examples, I seem to get consistency on all attributes except for this multi-line display problem.

After two days of trying to trace back the culprit, I’ve running out of ideas.
