• Hi there,

I just installed WP 2.0.1 (I have worked with 1.5 and 2.0), I notice I can’t browse the inages I uploaded. I can however upload images (I check this with my ftp program) and have chmod wp-content and uploads?

With my other blog using WP 2.0 I don’t have this issue

What can I do, where do I look for??

  • i got the same issue. up load works fine but when it goes to the “browse” tab there’s nothing there except the filename or the title that i gave to the picture.

it does not upload to the usual structure of uploads/2006/03 etc. but just uploads the file to the “uploads” subdirectory.

so when i do a “send to editor” the file address has a double slash — // in it.

update: there’s something new in the options – miscellaneous page. there’s an “uploading” section already and checking the “organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” solves my problem of not uploading in the usual structure of year/month. but i still can’t browse the images. there is a part of the program that adds an additional slash (/) to the generated filename.

ok. i did some debugging and here’s what i found so far. it does upload now to the proper subdirectory as above (uploads/year/month format) but the “send to editor” script generates a filename in the “https://blog.alanguilan.com//2006/03/…” format.

apparently, the generator does not inlcude the “wp-content/uploads” section of the filename. i’m not sure if this problem lies in the inline-uploading.php file but i’m trying to trace the bug there without much success so far. it is a pretty big file and i’m a bit rusty on the javascript. if anyone has any idea please jump in.

hi. i tried mucking with the inline-uploading.php file and its taking a wee bit long for me. so i replaced the version on the server (from a 2.0.1 release) with an old version of mine (from a 2.0 release) with same results — the uri addresses of the images for the “send to editor” link and the browse and browse all sections are generated incomplete. all of them do not have the ‘wp-content/uploads’ part of their addresses.

which now, i think should be considered a bug.

can anyone from the development team help with this please?

This sounds like the same issue I’m facing, though I’m not getting a successful upload at all. I just get the text (alt text?) in the browse/browse all of nay images I try to upload. Earlier versions of 2.0 uploaded fine.

Also: is WP correctly filing the images in the year/month subdirs? I only have /2006/01/ on my server, but it holds files from Feb and Mar 2006 (and none from Jan)

well, apparently upgrading to 2.02 solved this issue for me. peace.

I have the same problem, the image is uploaded, thumbs are made (have ftp checked the wp_content folder) but no browse tab appears and no thumbs are shown.

I have tried almost everything, changing php version, wordpress version and editing my php.ini and none of it helps.

I have tried uploading to a host service here it works fine so i need help figuering out what is wrong with my server setup.

so Please if anyone outhere know anything let me know

    jacob

PS i am running my server on a WIN XP system, mysql ver. 5.0.24, PHP ver. 4.4.3, Apache server ver. 2.0.59 wordpress ver. 2.0.4
