Pingbacks in 2.0.1 not working ?

  • As far as I have understood the many posts about this topic, automatic pingbacks should work fine as of 2.0.1

    But on my 2.0.1 setup, toward another type of blog, toward another WordPress blog, or toward another WordPress blog on the same host I have consistently failed to see any pingback appear on the linked article on the target blog.

    I am running WordPress 2.0.1 from the Debian package with several blogs on the same host. I have enabled the “Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)” option.

    Does anyone here have had the same experience ? Is there something obvious I have not understood ?
