Gallery Caption to display within post only, not on home page

Hello,
I was looking to see if there was a way to figure out how to add the gallery caption for the first image to display within the post only and not the home page. I am thinking something in the functions.php needs to be added but not exactly sure. I am using Gamepress theme.
