    I deleted w3-total-cache and w3tc folders, and advanced-cache.php, db.php, wp-total-cache-config.php files, and now all seems to be OK…

    Can anyone that had this issue give me the error from their web server / php error log please?

    I wiped out every reference to W3TC in the db and removed every file owned by it. I’ve chown/chgrp’d every single file in the document root to apache and recursive chmod 777’d everything, just for testing.

    No other caching plugins installed.

    PM and I can jump on a call with you to see if we can resolve if you need.

    Yikes, there are a lot of concerns with this W3TC upgrade. Cloudflare is having a hard time communicating with the settings, and in MaxCDN it is asking for things like Consumer Secret which isn’t really found in my CDN. Not sure why W3TC didn’t adapt settings from the previous version, so I hope a new update comes out, because I can’t get anything to work like it was before ??

    Hello All some have previously posted that it is best to uninstalled the old plugin delete all the plugins files from your sever via FTP and install the new upgrade. This has worked for all who have reported issues like yourself.

    Try and see if this works.

    mbrsolution, I’m sorry, but that isn’t working for me and others I have spoken with.

    Also not working for me.

    Deleted W3TC, deleted advanced-cache.php, db.php, wp-total-cache-config.php. Wanted to install W3TC again, got a lot of errors, deleted W3TC again and then I got the following error.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_cache_init() in /home/”user”/domains/”domain”.com/public_html/wp-includes/load.php on line 409

    Re-installed WordPress, still same error.

    Hello @loki_racer and @jeffrey1987 have you deleted all the files associated with w3 Total Cache?

    Removing W3 Total Cache Completely

    1 ) Remove the following files in ‘wp-content’ folder.
    – advanced-cache.php
    – db.php
    – object-cache.php

    2 ) Remove the folder named w3-total-cache that may be residing in ‘wp-content/plugins’ folder.

    3 ) Remove the line define(‘WP_CACHE’, true); in your wp-config.php file.

    4 ) Remove /wp-content/w3tc/ dir

    5 ) Remove /wp-content/w3-total-cache-config.php file

    For W3 Total Cache 0.9.2.6/7 add also the following steps:

    6 ) Remove /wp-content/w3tc-config/ dir

    7 ) Remove /wp-content/cache/ dir

    8 ) Delete all the entries in your .htaccess except the default entries made by wordpress……..

    Then install a fresh 0.9.2.7 version.

    If delete all .htaccess entries, except the “Default WordPress Permalinks Code”, or reset it, broke your installation and other installed and active plugins functions: delete only W3 Total Cache entries!

    Hello @sla NGjI’s, yes you are correct that is where I got all the instructions you see above. I do apologise if anyone feels that I have copied it without referring to the original post. My intentions were to compile all the information in an easy to follow steps scenario. Mainly for all who might find it challenging to follow those steps because of their WordPress limitations.

    I have not deleted anything in the htaccess. I have not deleted any lines in the config.php.
    I just changed the permissions to 777 htaccess Everything worked properly.

    Yo no he borrado nada en el htacces. Tampoco he borrada ninguna línea en el config.php.
    Sólo he cambiado a 777 los permisos del htaccess y wp-content. Todo ha funcionado correctamente.
