Open single images with PrettyPhoto

Is there a way to set individual images that are inserted into a post to open with PrettyPhoto? The benefit would be that once expanded, the image could be closed using the “close” button. Currently, I have to use my browser’s back button in order to return to the post as the image opens in a new window.
