Import PDFs to pages, need to be searchable

My goal is to create pages in wordpress that are fully searchable. The information I need to put on these pages currently lives in about 250 pdfs. I am not sure the best way to approach this problem. The first thing I tried was to convert the pdfs to html and import that way. There are three problems with that, firstly the PDFs that are converted contain javascript which wont translate in the pages. The second problem is that WordPress loses the images in the html because they want you to upload any media into the page. The third problem is the documents are formatted for the full page not the size of the usable space on the page. I thought about taking the HTML pages I create or the PDFs and using iframe to embed them into the pages, the problem with that is they aren’t searchable in that scenario. Do you have any advice as to how to solve this problem?
