Can multi-site do the following?

  • I want to use bbPress as the forum for multiple sites. Here is the list of things I am trying to do and any comments are greatly appreciated.

    I need turn three separate sites into one massive network that could add more sites to it.

    I want to share users, share a forum, share posts from the 2 satelite sites and have them post on the main site which in turn links off to the other sites.

    Posts created on all sites automatically creates a post in BBpress in its respected categories. Example… If a post is created at XYZ.com in ABC category, it creates the post under the XYZ forum category under the ABC forum.

    Wow. That sounds like you’d want to fork a broadcasting plugin somehow.

    I’m just starting to get the feeling that what I am wanting is something that may need to be custom built, unfortunately custom isn’t an option as I don’t have the skill to do it myself or the money to do pay someone to do it.

    So, I’ve been dabbling in multisite a little bit because it does mostly what I want, but I seem to be running into issues. I’m hoping the bbPress and Multisite will do what I’m looking for though, or at least get me close to that point.
