Blocked Message Vanishing on Update

I put in a blocked message on a page and update the field. It is now visible on the page if I’m not the specific user. If I change some things in the content of the page, then hit update… the blocked message I put in the custom field is now gone.

This is particularly a problem as the Global Blocked Message STILL doesn’t work at all. If there is nothing in that custom field, it should show the global.
