WP 1.2 and 2.x at same time?

    I’m running wordpress v1.2 – never got the time to upgrade to v1.5 and redo the customisation… wondering can I install v2.x at the same time as v1.2 and then slowly work on customisation and then later import the entries from v1.2 to v2.0????

    or how about this – install v2.x and do the customisation – then save my theme files, delete v2.x and upgrade from v1.2?

    Can I go from v1.2 to v2.x???

    The gurus say the best thing is to go by steps with the upgrade: 1.2 > 1.5 > 2.

    EDIT. Yes, you can have a parallel 2.x install (on another set of DB tables) and do the customization work on that one. I guess that would mean a custom theme. When done, save the theme and go back to the original 1.2 and upgrdae it as I said above. Finally, install your theme on it.

    I’m also trying to upgrade from 1.2 to 2.x. What is the wordpress site url I can visit to download the 1.5 version?
