I can say that to the best of my knowledge I have read the entire master list and have tried everything that it suggested (that I understood) and I still can’t get the visual tab to work. Now I am totally new to WP and am self taught and probably WAY behind most folks around here, but my blog worked GREAT until the update with all my current plugins, theme, etc. I just want it to work again. The link to my site is lbcreations.us, but it’s all a mess right now because I’ve been changing the themes as suggested. Current theme is twenty-eleven. Thank you and PLEASE pretend that you are speaking to a very lost person when you offer help! Because you are. ??

OH! And while creating a post in TEXT mode it will not allow me to add media to my post.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Did the following…

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Not sure what you mean about the following…

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I am having the same problem… The Visual tab looks available, but I can’t actually switch to it. I am also prevented from inserting any media

icee, below are my plugins, version, and status. Maybe you can compare and we can see if we have any common plugins.

    INACTIVE PLUGINS:

    • Blogger Importer – Version 0.5 | By wordpressdotorg
    • Google Analytics for WordPress – Version 4.2.8 | By Joost de Valk
    • Jetpack by WordPress.com – Version 2.1.1 | By Automattic
    • MailChimp Widget – Version 0.8.12 | By James Lafferty
    • Moon Phases – Version 3.1 | By Joe’s Web Tools
    • Pinterest “Pin It” Button Lite – Version 1.4.3 | By Phil Derksen
    • Polldaddy Polls & Ratings – Version 2.0.18 | By Automattic, Inc.
    • SEO Smart Links – Version 2.7.6 | By Vladimir Prelovac
    • SharePress – Version 2.2.9 | By Fat Panda, LLC
    • SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam – Version 2.7.6.4 | By Mike Challis
    • Tynt Insight for WordPress – Version 1.0.0 | By Christopher Ross
    • WP Blog Vitals – Version v1.4 | By Ruhul Amin
    • WP Google Authorship – Version 2.0 | By Mervin Praison
    • WPLOOK Twitter Follow Button (new) – Version 1.0 | By The WPLOOK Team

    INACTIVE PLUGINS:

    • Akismet – Version 2.5.7 | By Automattic
    • Facebook Comments by Fat Panda – Version 1.0.7 | By Aaron Collegeman, Fat Panda
    • Redirection – Version 2.2.13 | By John Godley
    • WP Super Cache – Version 1.2 | By Donncha O Caoimh

The visual editor works fine with vanilla WordPress.

So, if you’ve deactivated all of your plugins and switched to 2012 theme, then there’s any issue with your install or hosting environment, but we have to rule out plugin or theme conflicts first.

I use the 2011 and have switched twice to the 2012 theme.

I am almost sure that this started after my upgrade to WordPress 3.5.

I am also prevented from inserting any media, just nothing is added in the post. I can switch from Visual to HTML (using WP-Editor or WYSIWYG Foliopress).

But no media in !! …. have not seen it on my other sites … yet… but I do not want to switch Theme at this moment…. just to see…

Apparently I am at a point with this problem that I need to do the following and either no one can tell me how to do this or my posts are being over looked due to others posting on my request for help…so one more time I ask…how do I do the following so that I can “reactivate” my visual tab for editing posts?
    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Have you made sure that SuperCache is totally deactivated and cleared? According to your site it still active:

<!-- Dynamic page generated in 0.304 seconds. -->
    <!-- Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2013-01-22 16:50:50 -->

WPyogi, I just got through uninstalling and reinstalling WP on the server and I am still having the same issue. The entire supercache folder was deleted and once WP was reinstalled the visual tab is still not working. Any suggestions now?

Just to be sure, have you cleared your browser cache and cookies? Or even tried another browser just for the heck of it?
