Custom Post Types: sitemap doesn't automatically rebuild

When editing custom post types – the primary content on my site – the sitemaps aren’t automatically rebuilt, I have to do that manually. Is there a way to make the plugin recognize updates/posts/edits of custom post types and get them to trigger the rebuild?
