Blank space above and below Menubar

I’m using the Easel theme with my own easel-child theme for WordPress. I’m getting a weird space above and below my menubar that I can’t seem to select using Firebug to see what it is. There’s just a hollow gap between the header, menubar and column-content.
Now I’ve been on this forum and seen a MULTITUDE of solutions, usually involving the #main, but my theme doesn’t have that. I’ve tried:

And the mentioned methods in the link above. To no avail! It used to work until I transferred things over to my childtheme. Idk what could have gone wrong… My site’s hosted locally so sadly I can’t just link you to the problem!
