• Hi Everyone. I have started coding my very first custom plugin, but I can’t seem to wrap my mind around exactly how to make everything work together. This is what I’m working on:

    1. Admin creates an event/photo competition.
    2. Each event requires paid registration.
    3. Each event will have a photo gallery that all paid participants will submit images to.
    4. Images will not be public until contest is over.
    5. Participants can only view their submitted images.
    6. Photo judges may view all images.
    7. A winner is selected based on judges’ ratings.

I would like to code this all myself. How would you set up something like this?

There are a few existing plugins that I have seen that might be able to help me set up something similar. I was thinking of maybe using S2Member, WooCommerce, and possibly NextGen Gallery. But, again…I would much rather do this as a standalone plugin.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Freddie,

personally in order to get ‘buy in’ from companies target market, I would do exactly what I am looking for:

    Photo competition
    – Anyone can upload picture
    – Start and finsh date of competition
    – facebook – twitter – social voting
    – page displays all competitors

    regards
    paul
ps- The only apps that I can find are ‘paid apps’, where I generally donate after the successful implementation of a project. The project that I am working on is for a local charity and I am not charging them, I set it up to help them https://www.bloomnpots.com and I want to run a photo competition.
