Lost text on pages

  • After writing/creating a new page while in WP I tried to save it and it lost 5/6 ths of the document. I had been successful in saving an earlier versions while working in WP, but the final save seems to have erased most of the document.
    My Question is : Where in WP does the Backup copies exist.. Where in WP does it store my articles (text files) that are displayed online?
    I might be able to find the document if i knew where to look for it.
