What settings do you change in: WP dashboard> Settings> Reading ….. to NOT have the blog posts show on your home page? I still want the photos to show in the slider – just don’t want the post to show up on the home page.

I am using the Free Small Business theme. WP verision 3.5

Please help ASAP – I have been researching all the forums to figure this out and I have had NO luck. I have also tried to register on d5creation site and still have not received email support or an email to confirm my username/password to login their site to ask a question. It’s been a couple of hours now – hoping they will respond within 24 hours.

I want to keep the photos that are showing in the slider which you have to add the photo in the feature image box in the blog post section. I just don’t want the blog to show up on the home page. Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

  • What you want to do is make sure that you have at least one page set under pages.

So, go to your pages and create a page called home.
Insert content in there if you want.

Then go to settings > reading
Select Show a static page and then in the dropdown, choose your Home page.

    That’s it.

I did that and it didn’t work. The 2 post are still showing on the home page. I want to remove the 2 post from the home page along with the Archives box and Meta box. Still have had NO luck in getting that off my home page.

Is this the theme you are using?

If so, I think that the front-page is meant to display the latest 2 posts. That’s how it’s set up in the code. If you’re not too attached to the theme, you may want to try another, or I see that they have a Pro version. Perhaps that one has the functionality you are looking for.
