Unscheduling drafts

    This ticket does not represent an issue with the plugin and is more of a feature request.

    WordPress does not appear to allow the unscheduling of drafts. Once a publish date is set, the only option thereafter is to change the date forward or backward. This prevents visibility and queuing of the draft in the non-scheduled drafts column of the plugin’s main calender page.

    Granted, this is something that WordPress needs to fix but I thought it might be worth asking if a) you know how to unschedule drafts and b) if you think this is a worthwhile feature to add to future version releases of your plugin.

    Thanks for using the Editorial Calendar. Unscheduling a post is easy in the calendar, just drag the post and drop it into the unscheduled drafts section. That will mark the post as a draft and remove it from the calendar.

    WordPress does support unscheduled drafts like this, but they don’t support it in the UI. The post will show as a draft on the date it was last scheduled in the standard WordPress UI, but it won’t be scheduled and the calendar knows to keep it in the unscheduled section.

    BLESS YOU! I’ve been pulling my hair out on that one!!! Thanks so much. As a “visual” person, I LOVE the Editorial Calendar. Am guessing that WordPress wouldn’t support my following feature requests, but it sure would be great to be able to print out the calendar (I know, so “old school”) and for those of us who categorize or “color code” our content, it would be great to be able to see at a glance what topics are getting adequate coverage. Then again… I could be better at planning ahead ??
