Update or just fresh duplication?

    I made ??my first installation with Duplicator. I transferred my site from localhost (XAMPP) on the live server. I am truly impressed!

    I have one question.

    Can I make the update? Is it possible or just fresh duplication? Do I first have to delete my existing SQL database? Or data will be overwritten?

  • Hi vipteam,

    You either have to purge the database before you install, or check the “Remove Tables” checkbox which will DELETE all tables and then run the SQL import script…

    I think I understand. “Purge” deletes the database. “Remove Tables” will leave the database but it deletes the tables in database.

    Now only remains to try. Thank you again.

    That is correct! Although there is no Purge option in the installer. You would either create a new one or delete the existing or just remove the tables in the existing one if they exist ??
