Trouble uploading zip file theme

    Hi Everyone,

    I recently purchased a theme from ThemeForest and downloaded it as a zip file to re-upload onto WordPress using the Upload feature under ‘Install Themes’. However, every time I’ve tried to do this, it’s taken quite a few minutes in the process of uploading but comes back with a message saying upload failed. I cannot fathom what I’m doing wrong and how to go about successfully installing this theme so was hoping that someone would have some advice?

  • ya that is becoz on ur server it dont have write permission so for that u can directely upload the theme file to ur webspace through ur cpanel in to ur wp-content/theme folder and unzip there the theme through cpanel and u r done u will then get it visible into ur wp site.

    If you can’t get any of them to work, you’ll need to contact ThemeForest for help with their commercial theme – as these forums don’t provide support for commercial themes.

    I downloaded a wordpress template, which was a zipped file. It resides in “download”
    when I went to the upload through the admin of my url site the zip file, which is ALL the files of the template, will not load.
    I see there is a file in the complete template zip files that is called “theme” but there is no way, I can tell, to separate this file from the rest of the template to upload it alone…

    Where did you download this theme from?
