BackUpWordPress – Backups Directory Can't Be Created
-
Hello,
I have been using BackUpWordPress with a website hosted on MediaTemple for more than a year without any problems.
Just recently, I’ve moved to a new server, DreamHost. I followed the steps to move WordPress from one server to another (same domain & URL), and also uploaded my database backup created with BackUpWordPress without any problems, with the exception of this installing this plug-in on the new server.
To be sure it wasn’t my backup copy of the plug-in, I downloaded a fresh version of BackUpWordPress through the Admin screen, activated, and installed. This message is displayed across the top of all Admin screens:
BackUpWordPress is almost ready. The backups directory can’t be created because your wp-content directory isn’t writable, run chown *********/wp-content or chmod 777 *********/wp-content or create the folder yourself.
I’ve already created a new folder called “backups” in the wp-content folder and chmod to 777. From a security standpoint, doesn’t seem like I would want the ENTIRE wp-content directory set to 777, but I did try that earlier and regardless, this message still continues to display.
Please kindly assist.
