Internal vTiger with external WordPress

Hi,
I would like to use this plugin to setup a Leads capture form on our externally hosted website (GoDaddy) that runs on WordPress.However, our installation of vTiger is hosted internally. Will I need to open up an IP address / port for external users to access our vTiger?
Any help greatly appreciated!
