The simpler (still retaining value) you make a thread, the easier it is for volunteers to get their heads around it. If it looks complex, volunteers are more likely to think they don’t know the answer.
Disregarding the above, volunteers may have any other reason and it would be valid. Volunteers don’t have to post.
